Description
With the Thermoball™ Triclimate® Jacket from The North Face, you essentially get three men's jackets instead of one, namely two separate jackets that can be worn together or separately. This way, you get a jacket that can be used most of the year or on days and trips where the weather can change a lot and quickly.
The outer jacket of the Thermoball™ Triclimate Jacket features a DryVent™ membrane, making it waterproof and breathable. It has fully taped seams. The fabric is made of impregnated polyester with 5% elastane and is stretchable.
The jacket has an adjustable hood, sleeve vents, Velcro® adjustment at the sleeves and three zipped pockets, with a drawstring at the hem to adjust the fit. One of the pockets has a headphone outlet.
The inner jacket is made of impregnated Windwall™ nylon with insulating fiber filling in the form of Thermoball™ from PrimaLoft®. It is a fiber filling that stands out from the countless other fiber types in that the fibers lie in tiny balls instead of long threads. The balls connect together like down does, and in this way a lot of insulating air is trapped between them.
Unlike down, PimaLoft® Thermoball™ retains approximately 70% of its insulation even when wet. When compared to down, its insulation is approximately equivalent to down with a fill power of 650. PrimaLoft® Silver is used in the sleeves and collar.
Thermoball™ is used in the body, while another type of fiberfill, also from PromaLoft®, is used in the sleeves and hood.
The two jackets can be linked together or simply worn on top of each other, and they can also be combined with other products from The North Face that are designed to be zipped together.
